Elementary Teacher
New Humble Community School
Job Details
New Humble Community School (NHCS) is a growing K-Grade 9 public charter school just south of Calmar, Alberta. NHCS is inviting applications for an inspired and passionate educator to join our team at the elementary level. At NHCS, education looks different and that is intentional. Our approach is rooted in hands-on, experiential learning, where agriculture and environmental stewardship shape how students learn. From outdoor classrooms and barnyard lessons to real world problem solving, students don't just learn, they live their learning.
We are looking for an elementary teacher who shares this vision. Someone who believes that curiosity should lead the way, that learning extends beyond four walls and that meaningful connections to the land, animals, community and each other are the heart of education. This fulltime position will commence at the start of the 2026-2027 school year.
Reporting directly to the Principal, the successful candidate will:
Ensure effective planning, instruction and assessment for students
Develop and nurture a positive, hands-on and experiential learning environment
Create the classroom conditions for students to achieve the outcomes as outlined in the Alberta Curriculum and meet Charter Goals
Work collaboratively as a member of a professional learning community
Nurture strong relationships with students, staff, parents and the school community
The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:
Possess a valid Alberta Teaching Certificate
Previous experience teaching the assigned courses/subjects is an asset
The ability to achieve Alberta Education’s Teaching Quality Standards
The ability to provide programming in an environment that connects to the land, animals and community
Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational and problem-solving skills
Commitment to lifelong learning and professional improvement
Interested applicants can apply by emailing Amanda Clark, principal of NHCS, at amanda.clark@newhumbleschool.ca. The application must include a cover letter, resume, and contact information for two professional references. As a condition of employment, new employees are required to provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check and Intervention Record Check. This competition closes on June 15, 2026.
New Humble Community School thanks you for your interest, however, only those applicants selected for an interview will be contacted.
