April 3, 2026- NHCS Current Students Intent to Return closes
April 10, 2026- NHCSA Board notified of returning student statistics
April 13 -24, 2026- Pre-Registration for new students
April 27, 2026- Administration reviews new registrations and available spots are filled based on the student selection criteria and a waitlist is created (waitlists are reset annually)
NHCSA Student Selection Criteria:
1. Siblings of students already attending the NHCS.
2. Children of staff members.
3. Previous students of Humble Beginnings Playschool within the New Humble Community School Transportation Boundary.
4. Students within the area designated as New Humble Community School Transportation Boundary.
5. Previous students of Humble Beginnings Playschool outside the New Humble Community School Transportation Boundary.
6. First come first served to all other students. In this instance, any waitlist generated will be reset annually.
April 27- May 1, 2026- families will be contacted to complete their full registration package* or notified that they were not registered but are on the waitlist
The registration package will require but is not limited to:
Proof of primary address:
Where the child resides. It must include the parent / legal guardian / independent student name.
Examples include: GST rebate, home or renters insurance, income tax statement, mortgage statement, property tax assessment or the Canada Revenue Agency letter
Child's proof of age, citizenship and legal name:
Examples include: Alberta Birth Certificate, Canadian Birth Certificate, Canadian passport, Canadian Citizenship Card, Canadian Citizenship Certificate, Confirmation of Permanent Residence or the Canadian Certificate of Indian Status
*Please note that the registration package and supporting documents must be scanned and emailed to the school (colleen.zimmerman@newhumbleschool.ca) or hard copy in order to be accepted. Photographs will not be accepted.
-One follow up email and one phone call will be attempted for incomplete or unreceived forms after May 1, 2026. It is the family's responsibility to ensure that contact information is accurate and up to date.
-Confirmation provided to parents for registration received and registered as the complete package is received
May 1, 2026- NHCSA Board notified of new student registrations
May 8, 2026- Registration packages are due
If registration forms are not returned after two attempts to contact families, the spot will be offered to another student based on the waitlist and selection criteria.
Families may add their children to the waitlist for all grades (2026-2027) starting in September 2026. This process ensures that families can be contacted regarding registration for the following year.
