NHCS Facility
New Humble Community School Association is a public charter school, with one facility (New Humble Community School) which is located in a previous school building and modular classrooms. NHCS currently has a lease agreement with the school division that currently holds title to the building and land.

NHCSA received capital project approval through the Government of Alberta’s Schools Now program (formerly the School Construction Accelerator Pilot Program) to advance planning and prepare the project to be shovel-ready for construction of a replacement K-12 school. Schools Now supports the delivery of new classrooms for Alberta’s growing communities.

New Humble Community School has existed and operated on the same piece of land
since 1900, before Alberta was a province. It is an integral part of our community and history. Ownership of title remained in the hands of community members up until December 12, 1961,
when it was transferred to Leduc School Division #49 and subsequently transferred to
Black Gold Regional Division #18, as it was known at the time.
The New Humble Community School Association (NHCSA) formally requested that
Black Gold School Division (BGSD) transfer title ownership of the building and land back to the
community that had safeguarded it through the majority of the 20th century. The motion to
transfer title was subsequently defeated.
