2026/2027 Kindergarten Registration Information

NHCS Kindergarten Google Form Registration will open from January 12th - 16th, 2026. 

Any interested family can complete the google form to indicate they would like to register their child for Kindergarten. 

Completing the form does not guarantee kindergarten registration.

Forms will not be accepted prior to January 12th. 

No hard copy registration forms will be accepted during this time. Due to limited spaces only google form submissions will be accepted to date and time stamp registration forms.

Eligibility: To be eligible for kindergarten, your child must be five years old on or before December 31 of the school year, December 31, 2026. IMPORTANT - Registration is not determined on a first come, first served basis.

January 19th, 2026 Kindergarten Registration Date - The school Secretary and Principal will review the Google Form Registration list. 2026/2027 Kindergarten registration will be filled based on the student selection criteria and order they were received.

NHCSA Student Selection Criteria:

1. Siblings of students already attending the NHCS.

2. Children of staff members.

3. Previous students of Humble Beginnings Playschool within the New Humble Community School Transportation Boundary.

4. Students within the area designated as New Humble Community School Transportation Boundary.

5. Previous students of Humble Beginnings Playschool outside the New Humble Community School Transportation Boundary. 

6. First come first served to all other students. In this instance, any waitlist generated will be reset annually.

The week of January 19th, 2026 - January 23rd, 2026 - families will be contacted to complete their full registration package or notified that they were not registered. 

The registration package will require but is not limited to:

• Proof of primary address: Where the child resides. It must include the parent / legal guardian / independent student name. Examples include: GST rebate, home or renters insurance, income tax statement, mortgage statement, property tax assessment or the Canada Revenue Agency letter

• Child's proof of age, citizenship and legal name: Examples include: Alberta Birth Certificate, Canadian Birth Certificate, Canadian passport, Canadian Citizenship Card, Canadian Citizenship Certificate, Confirmation of Permanent Residence or the Canadian Certificate of Indian Status

Registration packages are due January 30, 2026. If the registration package is not received by January 30, 2026, two reminders will be made. One via email, one via telephone call. It is the family’s responsibility to ensure that contact information is accurate and up to date.  If the forms are still not received the space will be filled with the next student in line.

We encourage families that were not able to register to keep their children's names on the waitlist in case space becomes available (if a student withdraws enrollment or declines a space).  If a Kindergarten space becomes available it will be filled based on the student selection criteria and first come first serve.
